Perspective
Recently had a reminiscing session with a long time friend about junior high, high school, college, and all that in between, and it was interesting to think about how you change over the years. What used to be valuable may no longer be. What used to rouse you may no longer. And vice versa. I just thought of an incident that happened near the end of elementary school.
It was the last week of...

If it were only that easy. Swallow a bottle of pills, pass out for who knows how long. Maybe a few hours, maybe forever.
Why someone would try to use ending their life as a way of getting attention, I will never know. I guess it works. Everyone is all of a sudden concerned. But not for the right reasons. Not because they care. But because they’re afraid that they were part of the equation,...
This room is full of stuff. Your stuff. Your stuff that you no longer need/want. You left them here. They remind me of you. I can’t throw them out because they are not mine. I can’t give them back because we’ll never speak again. I don’t know what to do with all this stuff. Stuff that reminds me of you. Stuff that is here to stay. You’re here to stay.

“Can you please stop doing this?” He pleaded while holding my wrists in his hands. “You’re really hurting me.”
I didn’t remember much after that. All I remember was noticing that the blood dripping from where his hands were was extra dark that day. Much like the barbecue sauce that he likes to use to dip his chicken nuggets. I closed my eyes and let him pick...

Dear @AnthonyCQ. I’m going to defend you because I agree with the principle of what you had to say.
I hate activist people that believe that all of the world’s problems can be solved through “awareness.” Awareness doesn’t…
I got all the way down to what Brent wrote before I realized that…MY DASHBOARD IS PURPLE!
Some say that’s what drove him to madness. Others say, you know, no.

I wonder
How many gallons of ink will I have used over the course of a lifetime? I don’t know, but if there is a way to find out (e.g. lines of writing per page times number of pages times number of notebooks, etc.), I’d really like to find out. Also, how many trees I’ve killed, expressly for documenting my thoughts. I’m curious.

I don't really feel like I belong anywhere.
Just a mass floating in an endless void, repelled by everything I come in contact with. It feels kind of empty.

Live Accompaniment of the Day: As many have noted by now, the epic McNuggets Rampage footage is lacking an epic soundtrack to match it. AOTS’s Kevin Pereira and Alison Haislip, along with concert cellist Tina Guo and vocal artist Pepper La’Tife, step in to fill the void with a live accompaniment that transforms a Happy Meal into a McMasterpiece.

I was pretty obsessed with listening to KIIS FM’s Top 5 at 9 (Now the top 9 at 9) in junior high and apparently wrote down the top 5 songs every day for a month or so during the summer of 1997. So, the top 5 at 9 on August 4, 1997 were:
5. Barbie Girl by Aqua
4. Where’s the Love by Hanson (I had this song on repeat for a while)
3. I’ll be Missing You by Puff Daddy (before he...

More old diary reading
“It’s so interesting how life works. All the pieces fall apart, but they end up together somehow, although all the pieces may not fall perfectly together, but they stick to each other.” 3/20/2005

Reading old diary entries from high school is fun.
“I have no life. My life is a no life.”
“Life sucks, but you can’t live without it!”
“I think if I was ever to have a bf, I would bore him to death.”

I guess I'm a whiny bitch
So I had this Japanese advisor when I was in Japan. She worked in the EAP office in Tokyo and was the one that took care of all the business of the EAP students that were going to my school (Tohoku). While I was in Japan, I encountered many problems initially and I would always email her to either complain or just tell her how sad/depressed and frustrated I was. However, there were also times when...
